Postdoctoral Positions

Postdoctoral positions are available for highly qualified investigators interested in the mechanistic study of transpositional DNA recombination reactions and related processes. We combine biochemical, molecular biological, and physicochemical approaches to study highly regulated macromolecular complex assembly processes involved in DNA recombination reactions. Candidates with strong backgrounds in advanced nucleic acids / enzyme mechanism studies and / or in biophysical approaches with experience / interests in optical instrumentation will be welcomed. Current Projects include:

Study of Mu transpososome assembly process and its control by accessory proteins and DNA cofactors.

Study of conformational states of the MuB ATPase and its interaction with DNA and MuA transposase protein.

Stereochemical studies of phosphoryl transfer reactions in DNA recombination and related processes.iu transposition and HIV DNA integration reactions.

Interested candidates should send a brief description of their research experience, current interests and future goals together with a copy of CV either by E-mail to kmizu@helix.nih.gov, or by regular mail to Dr. Kiyoshi Mizuuchi, Building 5, Room 237, LMB, NIDDK, National institutes of Health, 5 Center Drive MSC0540, Bethesda, MD 20892-0540.
